As pointed out in the recent study about errors in doctors offices, 60% of the errors related to the reporting of test results to the doctors.  Almost 25% of the errors were the result of test results being incomplete, lost or late.  This often occurs because a doctor's office may have hundreds of test results coming into the office every week.  For those test results to be of benefit to the patient, the test results have to make into the right chart and be seen by the doctor.  Often important test results are lost, put in the wrong patient's chart or for some other reason never seen by the doctor.  When this happens patients can have serious conditions that are not diagnosed or treated.  In fact many of the medical malpractice cases our attorneys have successfully handled involved errors that occurred in a doctor's office.
