One Million Pounds of Pistachios Being Recalled Due to Salmonella Risk

Federal announced on Monday, March 30, 3009, that Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, a pistacho processing company based in Terra Bella, Calif., is recalling about one million pounds of pistachio products due to concerns about salmonella contamination.  So far, no reported cases of salmonella food poisoning have been tied to the contaminated pistachios.  However, federal authorities are currently investigating at least two consumer complaints.  The F.D.A. is warning consumers not to eat pistachios until the scope of the contamination has been clarified.
