Product and Equipment Malfunctions Cost Lives

Every day in the news we read about people dying or suffering terrible injuries on the job as the result of equipment malfunctions.  I think about Robert Stoots, 28, who died after a crane counterweight fell on him while he was working at Coolspring Stone Supply, Inc., in North Union Township in Fayette County; and Rodney Swanson, 45, who died when the chain saw he was operating got stuck, kicked back, and struck him in the face.  The products that people use in their jobs are not supposed to malfunction, and they are not supposed to injure or kill those who use them.  When a product malfunctions and injures its user, the manufacturer of that product is responsible to pay for all the harm caused by the injury.
