Tainted Milk May Be the Cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Crohn's Disease

According to new research, there may be a direct link between bowel ailments such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's disease, and Johne's disease, and milk tainted with Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP).

Currently, there are no regulations in the United States requiring the disposal of milk found to contain MAP. If milk tested on the farm or at a processing plant is found to contain the bacteria, it is still processed and delivered to stores.
