Late this morning an explosion and fire at U.S. Steel's Clairton Coke plant injured workers. At least 15 workers have been injured, with at least two injured critically.
According to Allegheny County Emergency Services, no workers are missing or trapped in the plant.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is dispatching four people to the plant to investigate.
Initial reports were that flammable gas caused an explosion and fire in the number 2 B battery, the largest coke-making battery at the plant with 75 coke ovens.
