Endometrial cancer is a cancer that forms in the uterus. The uterus is a hollow, pear shaped organ located in the pelvis. This is the place in which a baby grows during pregnancy.

The most common type of uterine cancer begins in the endometrium (the lining of the uterus), and hence it is called endometrial cancer, uterine cancer, or cancer of the uterus.

There are several symptoms of endometrial cancer but the most common symptom is abnormal bleeding from the vagina.

There are several methods to test for endometrial cancer, including pelvic exam, pap test (also called pap smear test), transvaginal ultrasound, x-rays such as CT scan, and biopsy.
