The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute performs various types of transplantation, including liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel, liver/small bowel, heart, heart/lung, double-lung, single-lung, and multiple-organ transplants. Since 1981, the hospital has conducted over 17,000 organ transplants.
The Cardiovascular Institute at UPMC Presbyterian offers services including general, preventative and rehabilitative services, advanced cardiac imaging, cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular genetics.
The Trauma Program offers services that include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical intervention of various diseases. Conditions treated include hernia repair, biopsies of fatty tumors or lipomas, cyst removals, lymph node biopsies, insertion of feeding tubes and exploratory surgeries.
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery performs over 6,500 procedures annually. The department is organized into subspecialties which include brain function & behavior, clinical neurophysiology, image-guided neurosurgery, neurosurgical oncology, spine services, and trauma & injury
Services offered at UPMC Montefiore include the Comprehensive Lung Center, Benedum Geriatric Center, Facial Nerve Center, Ambulatory Surgery Center, General Internal Medicine physician offices, and medical and surgical inpatient units.
