Two Year Grant Awarded to UPCI Researcher

According to the Tribune Review, Jean Johanna Latimer, Ph.D., a researcher at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, was awarded a two year $300,000.00 grant for breast cancer research by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The research, which will focus on African-American women, will study tumors in the early stages. The goal is to determine which tumors will grow to be aggressive and which will not, and to tailor treatment appropriately.
