Cancer Malpractice Lawyer -- Breast Cancer Risk Not Increased by Caffeine Intake

A lengthy study has demonstrated that intake of caffeine, whether from coffee, tea, carbonated beverage, or chocolate, does not increase the risk of breast cancer in women.  The study, conducted by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health, followed 85,987 women over a period of 22 years.  Of those women, 5,272 developed breast cancer.

After accounting for other factors potentially associated with breast cancer risk, the researchers found no elevated risk of breast cancer among women in this large cohort who reported drinking 4 or more cups of caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee or tea per day, compared with those who drank less than 1 cup daily.
