Gall Bladder Surgery Doctor Cuts Bile Duct Medical Malpractice

Our client had surgery to remove her gall bladder, called a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal).  During the surgery, the surgeon accidentally cut the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine) causing a bile leak and infection.  She was taken to surgery again, but during that surgery, the surgeon accidentally cut the common bile duct causing another bile leak, peritonitis and sepsis.  Ultimately, she required a colostomy and bag to evacuate her stool.  We filed a medical malpractice case against the doctors and hospital involved in the surgeries and obtained an excellent settlement for our client.

If you were injured from gallbladder surgery, free information is available at the website of Berger & Lagnese, LLC.  We have an experienced team of lawyers that specializes in medical malpractice, and works on cases in Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Uniontown, Erie, Beaver, Washington, Altoona, and throughout Pennsylvania.
