Cracked Pepper Smoked Salmon Sold by Giant Eagle Possibly Tainted with Listeria Food Poisoning

A Washington state seafood company called Trans-Ocean Products Inc. is recalling a product called "Cracked Pepper Smoked Salmon".  All such product from Lot No. 54933-2 is subject to the recall.  The reason for the recall is that this product may be contaminated with with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  In Pennsylvania and Ohio, this product is sold by Giant Eagle.If you or someone you love has become sick after eating Cracked Pepper Smoked Salmon, you should contact your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room.
